# General
Vidarr Jarlsson was a leader among the Ættir, the humans across the Vasta Sea. Nothing is known about the lands that Vidarr and the other Ættir inhabited, nor why they left. It is known only that Vidarr led a small fleet of ships across the sea, landing on the shores of [[Adenland]] in 0 VL, at the site now called Vidarr's Landing, a few miles west of [[Soranger]]. Other ships followed for about a year, arriving at or near Vidarr's Landing. But soon the ships ceased, and those who had gathered on this new land began to forge a new kingdom and a new people.
It is said that Vidarr became king, and oversaw the building of Soranger, the first city. He was a wise king in the image of Taron, but had no children, so the throne passed to another clan after his death.
Vidarr's clan name, Oversaenur, was given to him by skalds long after his death. It literally means "from over the sea".
