Egil Ulfsson, a native of Rejken, had been one of the first chieftains to join Tryggve's host, and in the aftermath of the conflict was chosen to become lord of Rejken and the first Rejkenur. Unlike many of the other noble houses, the Rejkenur Clan was never replaced or dispossessed. Their strong and steadfast allegiance to the king kept them in the crown's good graces, and the current Rejkenur claim unbroken descent all the way from Egil. When [[Kronaborg]] grew into a major city, the city of Rejken benefitted as a stop-off for trade, and the Rejkenur played up their history as allies of the throne to maximise the association. This only intensified when Kronaborg was made the capital of the kingdom. Rejken and the Rejkenur grew quite wealthy, which remained the state of affairs until The Riving.
