Here, wrecked airships are dismantled piece by piece. Timber hulls are stripped for construction material, engines are broken down for their components, and metal strips are twisted into compact coils for sorting. It is the graveyard of airships. Scavengers pick over every inch of the hulks, ensuring nothing of value is discarded. Blown boiler assemblies are carted off to be reworked, split beams are taken for carpentry, and frayed ropes are cut into tinder. The yards are extremely hazardous. Improperly braced ships can collapse or roll over onto workers. Fingers and limbs are regularly lost to the saws. Multiple stone cisterns are placed around the yards' outskirts to extinguish fires before they reach the surrounding city.
