Here are some unorganised comments about the culture of the people of Adenland. When humans arrived on the continent, they spoke a language now known as the Old Tongue. Over millennia this language has shifted into what is now called (for D&D purposes) Common. There is an older, intermediate form of the language as well, although it has no separate name. In general, there is a continuum between the three main stages of language development. Gold Pieces are called "crowns" (_kroner_ in the Old Tongue, sing. _krone_). Silver Pieces are called "skillings" (_skillinger_ in the Old Tongue, sing. unchanged). Copper Pieces are called "orar", sing. "ora" (_ørar_ in the Old Tongue, sing. _eyra_). When not being used in a D&D setting, 1 crown is worth 17 skillings, and 1 skilling is worth 13 ora. Under D&D rules, of course, 1 GP = 10 SP and 1 SP = 10 CP.
